Return to remote learning

For those who have been able to join our remote learning, the feedback has been positive.  If you haven’t been able to join yet, we’re working hard to ensure that all pupils have access to our online learning.  Please check your emails regularly as this will be the preferred way of communicating.  If you haven’t heard from us, check your junk/ spam email or give the office a call to find out what is happening.

Teachers will provide a daily Zoom lesson which all pupils should attend and 3-4 hours of work will be set each day, including an English, a Maths and another subject.  This time also includes at least 20 minutes of reading and 15 minutes of multiplication practice.  During the week, our very own Joe Wickes (Mr Hartopp!) will be providing some much needed physical activity to get children up and moving about.  And parents, why not join in with them if you can?!

Teachers have been working hard to plan fun and engaging activities and we’re hoping to be able to provide a few creative Zoom sessions along the way.

This video explains how to get the most of your online sessions: https://www.teachstarter.com/gb/blog/10-virtual-learning-expectations-video-for-kids-gb/

And if you’re struggling for something to read at home, we have paid for a subscription to myOn, an online digital library of over 11,000 books.  The link is on the website, has already been emailed out to parents and I’ve included it here for your convenience: https://www.myon.co.uk/login/index.html

It is really important that our children attend the Zoom lessons with their classmates in order to give that sense of continuity.  If you are struggling to access this, please contact school urgently and we will do everything we can to get you online and accessing our teaching.
