For information, school is closed today Friday 3rd April, due to no provision being needed.  Parents who have been accessing the service have been informed.  If you are a key worker and need to find replacement cover, then you should contact the Leicester Admissions Team (I’ve included this for completeness as we’ve already spoken to all our key worker parents).  Thanks for your continued support.

For those families eligible for Free School Meals and wanting support this week, we have provided that internally.  I have had some enquiries about a voucher scheme.  Currently, the DfE and LA are working on a solution to this and I should know more by the beginning of next week.  As soon as I know more, I will share this with parents.

Guidance for schools has been updated;
we remain closed but will provide care for critical workers as a last resort.
Official release can be found here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-implementing-social-distancing-in-education-and-childcare-settings/coronavirus-covid-19-implementing-social-distancing-in-education-and-childcare-settings

To help ensure that the risk of virus spread for both staff and children is as low as possible, education and childcare settings that remain open should:

·         tell children, parents, carers or any visitors, such as suppliers, not to visit the education or childcare setting if they are displaying any symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19)

·         make sure anyone who is feeling ill stays at home (for residential special schools and colleges, this means self-isolating as a school or college ‘household’ if a resident is ill).
See the guidance on isolation for residential educational settings

·         increase cleaning of surfaces in classrooms, including desks and handles, and within toilet blocks and changing rooms, adhering to guidance on cleaning of non-healthcare settings

WHAT PARENTS CAN DO

·         Talk to their children about coronavirus (COVID-19), social distancing and hand washing.

·         Follow guidance for households with possible coronavirus infection.

·         Do not gather at entrances or in playgrounds, and model social distancing so that their children learn good practice.

Thank you in anticipation, Karl Stewart

 Non-essential travel outside of the home is to be avoided.
